Ryan Campbell
Biography

Ryan Campbell is a leading motivational speaker on mental, resilience, and work-life balance and an author, pilot, and owner of Flo, a 1960 Elvis-inspired Pink Cadillac.

At 19, Ryan set off in a single-engine airplane in an attempt to become the youngest person and first teenager in history to fly solo around the world. A wild 24,000 nautical mile adventure etched Ryan’s name into the history books and, a year later, onto bookshelves with the release of Born to Fly, the story of his global expedition.

Life was amazing, from shaking hands with the Royals, meeting a man who walked on the moon, to being named one of Australia’s 50 Greatest Explorers.

Two years after the around-the-world flight everything changed. Ryan was severely injured in a vintage aircraft accident. Diagnosed a paraplegic, Ryan spent the next five months in hospital and eighteen months in rehabilitation. It was a long, arduous journey back to not just walking but flying. It was a masterclass in mental health.

Tragedy and triumph sparked a journey of recovery and discovery, uncovering the most unexpected, unforgettable, yet transformational resilience-building tool - the power of prioritizing joy. Surprisingly, Ryan’s favorite lesson was not learned during the around-the-world flight or accident and recovery, but through his ‘worst financial decision ever,’ a Pink Cadillac.

As a renowned speaker, Ryan travels the world with the goal of starting the conversations that matter, all by asking a simple question - What’s Your Pink Cadillac?

Ryan has spoken to clients such as McDonald’s, Fidelity, Wawa, and GE and has been featured in media such as 60 Minutes, the Today Show, BBC, CBC, USA Today, and more.
