What should you include in your author bio?

By Maria Murnane
Many debut authors don't know what to put in their bio. That's understandable! In fact, I recently met a debut novelist whose bio at the end of her book said this: This is Lucy's first novel. She lives in San Francisco. When I asked Lucy about it, she laughed and said she knew it wasn't much, but she had no idea what else to write. She hadn't won any awards. She'd never written anything before. She hadn't even majored in English! Not to worry. If you're in the same boat as Lucy, here are my ...

Don't let anger steal your creativity.

By Jon Acuff
Recently, a politician tweeted something foolish. I saw the tweet, shrugged at it and then glanced at the amount of comments that single tweet had. There were 112,000 responses. That made me so sad because that meant tens of thousands of people spent their very limited creativity that day on an argument with a stranger. Do you know what those comments changed? Nothing. Do you know what they accomplished? Nothing. Do you know what they moved forward? Nothing. It was a toxic cyclone of strangers saying ...

Sen. Cory Booker: "Thoughts and Prayers" is "Bulls**t"

By Todd Starnes
The Democrat Party has a God problem, which I document extensively in my upcoming book, “Culture Jihad: How to Stop the Left From Killing a Nation.” It was bad enough when they tried to vote God out of the party platform in 2012 – but now a Democrat presidential candidate is openly cursing prayer. The Last 10%

By Josh Linkner
I was nearing the end of my three-mile run (I'm no marathon candidate), and was feeling awful. Tired, hot, sore, and ready to throw in the towel. Looking at the fitness app on my phone, I realized that I only had 10% remaining. As much as I wanted to quit, I forged ahead and completed the full run as planned. That moment of difficulty, angst, and exhaustion at the 90% mark is a place where many of us stop in fitness, business, and life. This inflection point got me thinking how many of us do 90% of the work but give up ...
